RARE, RARE, Pocket Watch -- Silver Billodes -Turkish -- #2

RARE, RARE, Pocket Watch -- Silver Billodes -Turkish -- #2

A Rare Billodes Silver Pocket Watch, made in the 1890's during the Ottoman Empire time period in Turkey. The watch has a key winding, ruby jewel mechanism and KEEPS GOOD TIME. The case is silver with a silver chain and key for winding. Gold on numbering on the watch face. The face has Arabic numbers but easy to read. There is a registration number engraved into the case.

This watch was bought by me in 1970 in Istanbul, Turkey, the new name for Constantinople of the Ottoman Empire. It was bought in the Grand Bazar after much haggling. I have researched similar watches on the internet and found similar watches.

The value of the watch through my research is between 700.00 to about $1600.00. Since I am now disposing of my collection of things I picked up over the last 45 years of visiting 173 countries, I will let it go on the low end of the value scale. US$ 599.00 dollars. A real bargain for a collector and even a steal for someone who likes to carry an antique pocket watch. A great conversation piece. A good gift for that hard to buy for fellow.

This is a rare piece not seen often. Get it quickly for you won't find another like it in my opinion.
